A home for their hearts
A friend let me borrow her MFW kindergarten teacher's manual. I already have something for phonics and math so I wasn't sure I would use it. However, looking through it, I like the suggestions in it. Could we get by using it without the student worksheets? ....
Hi, I'm teaching MFW K for the second time this year. A big chunk of the program is the worksheets. There is a worksheet everyday and there's stuff like the letter bingo...the calendars...writing to 100...handwriting practice...there are small Bob book-like things at the end of the school year that the child reads (that look like worksheets, but you cut them out and staple them together). I wouldn't do it without the worksheets, but if you're on a tight budget...and you have some stuff already like the Explode the Code books (the worksheets are similar, IMO) and you practiced writing numbers and letters...also you would need something like BOB books towards the end of the year...I think you would be OK. It is a really fun program. I know people say it is light, but we like it. It doesn't take long - maybe 40 minutes or so a day.
krismoose
I used it for Bible/science activities with my dd with other programs for math and phonics. It was lovely and simple, no worksheets needed, though a few suggestions require planning ahead and picking up something from the grocery store. A home for their hearts
I'm using something else for phonics and science so I wouldn't need the worksheets for those. I think I'm going to give it a try without the worksheets and see how it goes.
