anoncalhan
I am wanting to start Christian Liberty Press Building Spelling Skills with my boys. I am having a hard time finding what word list is in each book so I know where to start. We were doing sequential spelling and it appeared their spelling was getting worse not better. Do you know where I can find a list of the spelling words in each book? If you have used it can you tell me about it? Did you like it why why not? My boys are awful spellers they are both in 3rd grade. Any help would be appreciated.
Donna A.
Where are they in reading level, fluency and comprehension, and what did they do for phonics? Are they still doing any phonics? (One can be a good reader and not be able to spell well, but sometimes phonics needs to be done a little longer, especially since it complements beginning spelling skills. One is decoding and the other is encoding, so they reinforce one another.) Just off the cuff, I'd suggest having them do both Adventures in Phonics C (from the same company) and Building Spelling Skills 2 simultaneously, but I'd need to know a bit more in order to make a better suggestion. IceFairy
I am using Adventures in Phonics B with Building Spelling Skills A. This week (Unit 7) we have words like: tent, west, lamp, test, ramp, etc.... if you would like me to look ahead a bit, let me know :)
anoncalhan
They both read fairly well. They can read words but then not be able to spell them. My 7 yr old just finished reading Call of the wild and my oldest the lion witch and the wardrobe. IceFairy I would really love to know what the words towards the end are. I am worried that I will start in the next book but they will have missed key words in the first one. Do you like this series? Donna is this curriculum you have used? I am curious to how it has worked for others. Thank you ladies.
