What winterpromise program would you recommend to a first time user?

I can only recommend the one program we are using and enjoying - Equine Science. If and only if you have a horse lover!! ;)

For sixth grade, I think Adventures in the Sea and Sky would be fabulous! Otherwise, maybe Quest for the Ancient World (or Middle Ages).

We are definately doing equine science for science next year. She has been a horse lover since she was 3. She mentioned wanting to do middle ages again, so I will look at both of those :)

My dd loves Equine Science! She does it once a week, completely independently.

 

Just start ordering your books *early*, and keep on top of them. It took me about 6 weeks and multiple emails to get all the parts. I know some people just order the two unique parts from WP - the notebook and the curriculum guide - and get the rest of the books off Amazon or something. I understand why.

I would second SnowWhite's suggestion. My son was 11 and then 12 years old last year and he loved Adventures in Sea and Sky.

My younger one loved to hear what his brother was learning about and followed along in the science experiments.
