Lisa R.
I try to buy and eat whole grains. We eat rice once or twice a week. I do buy brown rice, but I buy the instant. How much healthier is this than the white rice? I admit I do this purely for convenience. When trying to eat healthier, is instant brown rice a good choice? Laura Corin
I really don't know - I have a rice cooker and it's easy to cook normal brown rice. I would look at the backs of the packets next time you are in a shop, to compare fibre, protein and other nutritional contents between the two kinds. Parrothead
If you are buying the kind that contains only dehydrated brown rice then you should be good. Not much different than eating rehydrated previously dehydrated apples.

swellmomma
I don't like instant brown rice(like uncle ben's) I find it is too sticky/gooey and gross. I like my rice to be fluffy for the most part.

I use Minute Rice brown rice occasionally when time is tight. I think the only thing in the box is brown rice, and maybe salt.
shukriyya
It recently came to light that brown rice from the US has high levels of arsenic. There are many articles on this issue that you can find by googling.
