Safety and Health

I'd like a simple health/safety curriculum for early elementary age/preschool age. I would love something open and go. Or if someone has a list of topics and book suggestions that would work as well. I need to make sure these topics get covered and I want something laid out completely for me. I would love if it were from a Christian perspective but if not, that's fine too.

What do you use to make sure these topics get covered?

I don't want to create my own outline or spend time choosing books to go with each topic. I want it done for me!

Suggestions please!!

ETA: I think I'd like if it focused more heavily on safety.

We have used Horizons and Abeka. I prefer Abeka's readers and the fact that you don't need the TG. For Horizons, I found it necessary to have the TG in order to make sense of the workbook, but then you end up having to weed through the TG lessons, which are overkill most of the time IMO. If I remember correctly, Horizons also calls for the use of a puppet A LOT, and this didn't go over well with my kids at all. Abeka, you can get by with the reader only, although I think the workbooks and extras would be helpful for the older grades. (we've only used up to Grade 3)

They both cover the bases, although I always end up adding in books and extras.

This is probably not what you are looking for since it is not planned out and open and go. I have Growing Growing Strong and it has quite a bit of health/safety information and ideas. More of a teacher's resource guide than a book you would read to your kid. I find it helpful to just get a quick idea for a fun activity to talk about certain topics. Could be helpful as a general resource guide to enrich whatever you find to read to your child. It's pre K to 1st grade age.

Thanks! That's helpful! I think I just want something that we can read and discuss together. I don't want a workbook or worksheets. I just want a guide with a chapter on each topic to make sure I get everything covered.

The Abeka readers would proably be a good fit. The very early years are a lot of basic things you cover in day to day life, like washing hands and looking both ways before crossing the street, but it gets deeper into topics as the years go on. Grade 3 talks about muscles, reading labels, etc and each grade builds on the previous. I am currently using Grade 1 and Grade 3 readers together. The Grade 1 kiddo just gets a little extra info. :)
