We tried WWE at the beginning of last year when we first started homeschooling, but the narrated style really didn't work for us! It just wasn't our thing. I know so many people love it, but we're happily using WWW 3 this year, and it's a much better fit for us. I like how independantly he can complete the lessons. We always discuss what he's learning, and he enjoys reading his little senteneces or paragraphs out loud to me. Seeing him so happy to be writing is a new thing for me! He struggled so much with it last year, (first with WWE and then Abeka Language 2) that I figured writing would always be hard for him. SO not the case! He is just a very "tool oriented" writer. He needed to know the nuts and bolts of how to constrcut sentences and paragraphs. Now he is SO much happier when asked to write something. I know WWE gets a lot of votes here, and it is a strong program if it suits your child's learning style. I just wanted to put in a vote for WWW! :)

WWE is on our school shelf.

WWW is in our basement.

This made me chuckle. Today we did WWE happily, but I decided not to start the second book of WWW. Last week we finished the first book of WWW and when we were done, Doodle ripped off the pages so he could have the spiral bindings. He then gave me the pages and said that we could have an "educational fire"! He meant we could use the workbook pages as kindle in our fireplace.

WWW3 was the best resource I found for teaching my son how to write a solid paragraph. It is very straightforward and clear. It also has exercises for teaching other format-type of writing assignments.

This year I chose about half of the lessons in WWW4 for my child to complete for similar reasons as above. I am also using WWW1 and 2 with younger kids for writing activities.

I don't use WWW as my primary writing program (IEW is that for me), but I consider it quite helpful for teaching various skills.

I consider WWE useful, though for different purposes. The main skill I use it for is teaching how to summarize a passage. Many use the WWE method as their primary one for teaching writing, but I personally don't favor it.
