Kareni
If you have a hair brush with wooden bristles, do you have a cleaning method to remove (or better yet, prevent) build up on the bristles? Using a fingernail lacks a certain elegance! Regards, Kareni

Bang!Zoom!
Do you mean horse/boar hair? I don't know I've ever seen a wooden bristle hairbrush...but I suppose any shampoo (designed to cut hair oils) would work, you'd just have to do it fast and furious and dry right away. itsheresomewhere
I throw all hairbrushes including the wooden handle ones in the dishwasher once a month. It cleans it great. I don't use the heat cycle.

It truly does have wood bristles -- bamboo to be exact. Here's a link to the brush. I throw all hairbrushes including the wooden handle ones in the dishwasher once a month. It cleans it great. I don't use the heat cycle. This is an interesting idea, but I'm not sure if it would work in this case as the bristles are set into a rubber base. I welcome more input!
