Ikea furniture, specifically the cheap coffee table

I am needing new end tables and a coffee table for my living room. Unfortunately, I don't have the funds to purchase solid wood ones... I saw a pin on pinterest of a 20 dollar coffee table that was turned into a beautiful one.

My question is for people that have owned this piece of furniture or the end tables that go with it: how sturdy are they when in a household with children. I have four and I really want it to last a couple years atleast.

Here is a link to the table from pinterest. I think it looks so cute:

Relatively sturdy. My kids had the dark wood one as a train table and then a Lego table - they climbed all over it and it didn't break, though it was slightly scratched up.... until someone did some sort of project that put a dent in the top - though I suspect a hammer was involved (It's in their basement playroom, so I'm not terribly upset). I have the side tables as the computer corner in the dining room for the kids and they've held up fine - some small scratches. Basically, I'd say they're good.

looks like a lack table. fairly sturdy. if you have an active craiglist in your area, you might even be able to pick one up used. (though I have seen people think they can sell ikea pieces for the same or even more than if you went to ikea. hello, what part of - when you drive off the lot, the resale price dropped - don't they understand?)

I had that one in the dark colour, it held up fine but scratched easily. Of course, I had little boys driving their hot wheels cars on it, which I allowed because it was a cheap table. We have a couple of the end tables now and I love how lightweight they are and easy to move around.

I have two of them in white. Durable, cleans up well with a baby wipe, looks nice but couldn't be mistaken for a high end table.

Mine have survived kids jumping off it (under 45lbs), cars, art projects (including the symphilis of all craft supplies: glitter glue), being wiped on by kid snot, and sticky unknown substances. Magic erasers saved us when baby wipes failed.
