newbieoftwo
We have jumped around a bit in math this year. I am looking at switching over to RightStart. My DS already prefers saying numbers the way the that RightStart teaches them and he is a very visual child. We will finish up Singapore KB in the next month or two and have done some Horizons K and Miquon as well. Should we start at A and move through it quickly or would we be ok starting at level B? ByGrace3
I believe RS originally began with B and many start there so if you have already done a K program you should be fine starting with B.
cmarango
I think you would be fine starting in B if he is ready to dig in to place value. I originally combined level A with Singapore 1A because I loved the geometry in RS that was not in Singapore. However, I was not impressed with how Singapore deals with place value and completed switched to RS within a few months.
Marie131
You could probably start w/ B and move slow. RS A assumes that the child knows basically no math so it may be redunant for a child who has alread completed a math program.
boscopup
I'd start with B. A would probably bore a child that has had K-level math, and you've done two advanced K programs that get into 1st grade topics. B starts at the beginning, but moves faster. newbieoftwo
Thank you so much! I hope we find a "home" for math with RightStart.
