athena1277 Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 We get some snow where we live, but it's not something we deal with every day during the winter. Ds really needs some type of boots he can wear in the snow that come up high. I would like to get him some snow boots since all the other boy's boots only come over his ankle, which isn't far when you are 5. However I don't want to pay $25 or more for boots that won't get worn much. Is there any place to get them cheaper? I have looked at the thrift store, but haven't seen any. Quote
Janie Grace Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 I haven't had luck finding boots for less than $25. In fact, if you wait too long, there will be NO boots available, even online (ask me how I know). If you really don't think you'll get more than 1-2 days of snow, I'd go for rainboots w/ several pairs of socks. Then he could wear them in the spring too. If you can swing it, get Lands End boots. They have sales and they are great quality. Quote
Farrar Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 Our Target had a ton of them out right now. Quote
Heather R Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 I have bought boots on clearance at Walmart, Sears, and Children's Place for under $15, but I'm not sure if they are marked down quite that much yet. Quote
Baseball mom Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 Walmart -- they even come in big big sizes for big boys. I think the little ones are less than $20 and the big big ones are $22. Quote
Arcadia Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 My boys had Target Circo brand ones that are comfortable and cheap but did get wet after a whole day of tubing. Their Sorel and Kamik ones kept their feet dry much longer and we bought those at REI sale for under $25. Their Sorel ones can be used as puddle jumpers as well and reach higher than mid-calf for them. Quote
Wendi Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 The cheapest ones I've found are at the sporting goods store. Last year, I bought boots for ds at Big 5 Sporting Goods for about $20. His feet have outgrown kids' sizes now, though, so I'm sure I'll have to pay more this year. Quote
MercyA Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 Our Target had a ton of them out right now. Our Target does, too, and they were all 25% off this past weekend. I bought some for about $17. Quote
