IceFairy
I am thinking of starting this with my 4.5 year old. She has some fine motor delays. She is just able to somewhat write numbers. She can circle, x, and draw lines. Is there a lot kf writing needed? The samples don't give me enough of an idea. Thanks!
ItoLina
There is not much writing at all, especially in A. It is mostly circling, crossing out and connecting a picture to a number with a line, that sort of thing. My son is a very reluctant writer, and he has never complained about the writing part of Singapore Essentials.

boscopup
If she still needs help when you get to book B, just scribe for her as needed. Not a big deal. There really is very little writing though. Sometimes there would be a whopping 3 problems on a page. :)
MeaganS
My daughter doesn't write at all and it works with me scribing for her very well.
Nart
I found that SM kinder had too much writing for my son when he was 4 1/2. Instead I did MEP Reception which is free. There is no writing just coloring and tracing, yet the concepts they teach are great. You discuss pictures ( how many, how many more of one thing than another, etc.) and do tasks that involve composing and decomposing numbers. It is a great introduction to Singapore Math. Seeking Squirrels
I bought a number stamp set for my 4.5 yo to use with math. She loves it! The set came with 5 other little stamps and she loves getting to "make the page pretty" after finishing.
