Faithr
If you have lots of leftover turkey and wanted to make Turkey Divan but sans the canned cream of chicken soup, what would you use to replace it? I haven't made it in years and I've since stopped using canned soup because of the MSG. Could I do something with chicken broth and cream??? gardenmom5
Here's my turkey divan recipe I"ve used for 30 years. for the sauce:' 1/4 c butter - melt and add 1/4 c flour, sifted slowly add - 1 c chicken stock 1 c milk stir and heat until thickened. add 3/4 tsp salt 1/8 tsp white pepper 1/8 tsp nutmeg 1/4 c parmesian -beat to soft peak 2 c heavy cream and fold into above sauce pour over broccoli and turkey layers in shallow cassarole that have been sprinkled with 2 tblspn parmesian. bake at 350 for approx 30 minutes until bubbly, and let sit under broiler for a few minutes until it starts to bubble and brown.
