-M-
Four enthusiastic thumbs up here. No, the singing is not perfect, but the film is definitely worthwhile.
Beth in OH
Five enthusiastic thumbs up here. Film buffs in the family were able to nitpick, but they loved it nonetheless. (We love the book and the stage show, too). I thought the movie did an admirable job of capturing some of the depth of the book. Huzzah! Brilliant
We're seeing it tonight. Can't wait. :)
lovemywhirlygirls
Totally undone by the movie. Loved it. Loved that the singing was not perfect and recorded "live" instead of in a studio separate from the emotion of the moment.
Kathryn
Glad to hear good reviews so far. I hope we'll be able to see it. We haven't been to a non-kid movie at the theater since before DS1 was born.

1bassoon
My hubby gave me a coupon for tix to this once we get home from Christmas travels. Can't wait, and glad to hear the good recommendations!

mom31257
May I ask how intense the sensuality was? Dd wants to see it badly, but we really don't want her to see intense scenes of that nature. If there are some, how much of the movie is it? She knows the nature of the film already.
Annie G
A couple of scenes are fairly graphic- when Fantine sells herself to a man, the scene is pretty short but quite graphic. And the Master of the House song/scene has a graphic part with Santa. Both of those scenes- the inn and down where the prostitutes were- were necessary to the story and well done, but might be a concern for you. Jen in NY
We absolutely loved this film. I thought the "explicit" scenes were actually not as over the top as they could have been, and it had been a concern for me. Anne Hathaway --- wow. Major props for her. And Marius! What a voice!
