And if yoy do, do you feel it is "enough"? Or do you feel the need to add a bunch of other stuff to get the best out of it?

Long story short, my kids who are in ps this year are coming back home next year. I want to get OM, like I've wanted so many times before. And I want to love it! And I don't want to have to spend a ton of extra money on extra stuff to have a great year. Spending that much money on a box curriculum is a lot for us and I don't have tons of money to keep adding to it.

Sigh... I just want to hear from someone who is using it or has used ir and totally loved it and did not feep any need to add anything to it to make it complete.

I used OM 5 and I thought it was wonderful. My sil used OM 3, 4, 6, and 7 and she loved all of them too. I used a different spelling program (All About Spelling) but that was it. My sil did not supplement at all. You can save some money by gathering the art supplies on your own from different sources if you have the time.

My DD used OM K and 1, without any supplements (apart from lots of reading) and did very well. We're back using it again this year, and we are using a different math program (MUS) and supplementing with a few things, but this is mostly because we like them, not because they're really necessary.

Oak Meadow doesn't have to be super expensive. If you decide to go with it, take a look around for used copies.

Used it for Pre-K and K, then back again for grade 4 to current (grade 8).

For middle grades, we haven't used the program complete for every grade because we are Canadian and a couple of years are totally focused on US history, so we modify/substitute.

I feel that it is solid as is, but I am a tweaker by nature. OM math was not a good fit for my ds. After trying a few things, we have settled in with Saxon, which I do not like, but it works very well for ds, so it stays. I plan to continue using many of the OM high school courses as we continue our homeschooling.

We just started OM1 midyear and so far we really like it. There is reading, drawing, math, music, and art all presented in creative ways. In fact, my nine-year olds come over and listen when I am working with my youngest. I am going to get OM5 for them next year.

I am a curriculum and book junkie so I supplement all the time. I am always second guessing myself- am we doing enough? am we doing too much?

There is someone on this board with an awesome blog about her kids' experience with Oak Meadow. She would be a great resource. I hope it is ok to post her link.http://nancextoo.livejournal.com/.
