BlueTaelon
I'm sitting here drinking my coffee and going over what I need to do today and ugh... finish dying playsilks, paint a minecraft creeper t shirt for dd, make hard candy for my mom, lip balms for every one, bake bread and make turkey stock from the turkey I roasted last night (which still needs to be deboned), ugh, just realized I still need to paint 2 of the playsilks which still need to be dyed. oh yeah, I need to make GF chocolate chip, anise and almond cookies too. Can I just go back to bed and watch TV?
AK_Mom4
You can go back to bed after you make the cookies - those sound too Yummy to skip! I still have to do all my Christmas Shopping, including shopping for my own present. DH spent most of Saturday trying to find an iPad case for me, but no luck, so I told him I would find it on Monday and have DD11 wrap it for him (he has to work). At least he thought of a present! True to form, my family is starting to come up with lists of "nice to haves" for Christmas, so I am glad I put off shopping!
Pippen
I have the shopping done except for one quick trip out I'm making here in a bit. In every other regard, I feel like an unorganized disaster this year. I did most of my shopping online but what I did locally took a ridiculous amount of time. We're leaving on a trip on the 27th so I've been preparing for that. The house isn't clean. Cookies aren't baked. I didn't even start my newsletter. Christmas will happen, but I'm flying by the seat of my pants.
Word Nerd
Yes, including a trip to the grocery store and lots of wrapping. I should not be posting right now...
Abeille
Yes, including all the wrapping and a bunch of cooking. I'll start the ragout boullette today and assemble it tomorrow, and will hopefully get the tourtieres baked today too. If I have time, I'll do white chocolate peppermint fudge and cranberry bars. We still have to put up our tree too. That would be done, but I left it up to my kids to help clean up the room it's going into - they haven't gotten their acts together to do it, so no tree until they do. We're having a tiny tree this year due to a destructive bloodhound puppy, so I won't be too upset if it doesn't go up this year. Anyways, I have lots to do and I really should get started. I'm just not that into the holidays this year.
Impish
Yup, have some errands to run, since I've just been informed that SIL *will* be joining us for Christmas dinner...means I need more yams, etc...you know, stuff that can't be stretched beyond what I've already planned! HomeschoolMamaOfTwo
We did ours yesterday since DH is off so I am relieved that there is nothing to do for our family Christmas! BUT, my mom is coming to visit us soon, and I have a ton to do before she comes... so I can relate there. I guess I should make a list and go from there. The worst part, the grocery store on Christmas Eve. Ugh.
RebeccaS
I have to clean the house (or at least the bathrooms and the main rooms) and plan out a menu for the next week and shop for it. My in-laws are coming the day after Christmas (it was last minute notice) so I have to get it done today. I will not go out on Christmas Eve if I can help it. This feels like a lot to me right now. I'd rather go take a nap.
shanvan
I have wrapping to do, but no cooking or baking since we are all eating a bland diet b/c of a stomach virus. I need to go to the grocery store but no one here wants to eat anything, so I have no idea what to buy. I'm not sure they will even be up for a meal on Christmas. It might be the strangest Christmas dinner we've ever had--chicken noodle soup, bananas, saltines, applesauce and Gatorade. Martha Stewart would be proud! Oh! I just remembered I need to order a photo book for my in-laws. I'd better get on that! And, of course, I need to disinfect the house. Giraffe
I still need to shop, wrap, bake, cook, and who knows what else. Been traveling the past four days and going to visit an aunt tomorrow so I have no idea how to get it all done. None. It's the middle of the night here and I'm up late stressing. Oh, and DH has a man cold. And it's his aunt we're visiting. Grumble. Just call me Scrooge.
Jean in Newcastle
I've just made my list of all the food ingredients I need for the next 3 days with ds' help. Now I"m off to the grocery store. Tomorrow is busy, Christmas day won't be as busy. I am still taking oscillo and oil of oregano to ward off some kind of virus and to help me with the ear infection I'm fairly sure I have. So far, both remedies really help. I even made my family who has no symptoms take oscillo this morning to "inoculate" them in case I was coming down with something. I am NOT getting sick at Christmas. (Hopefully these are not famous last words.)
Pippen
Ack! My mother who was supposed to be here tomorrow around noon appeared on my doorstep around 6 pm tonight. The house is a shambles. I'm consoling myself that at least most of the dishes were done. On the bright side, I won't have to stay up all night cleaning because she's already seen the Dark Side of my housekeeping. :chillpill:

TravelingChris
I don;t need to wrap- someone does it for me, if I want that. I am leaving for the grocery store as soon as I have coffee, buying last minute things, heading home to cook and relax. I have two big feasts to cook in two successive evenings and a nice breakfast tomorrow morning. I need my coffee.
