CyndiLJ
We were given a special gift of $100 to buy something for our five kids or to give them a treat of some sort. Christmas is spare this year. We'd like to do something different and a little special, and I wondered if the Hive had any unique ideas floating around for the middle school set as a group. Thanks! Wabi Sabi
Museum membership?
Denise in IN
I was thinking the same - museum membership, or zoo membership, or some sort of special experience together (even a nice dinner out if they would enjoy that). Do they like to play games together? You could get 2 or 3 or the nicer, more expensive board games. Editing to add a couple more ideas. We have purchased a group gift for our kids at christmas over the past few years, for around $100. Last year we got a ping pong table, another year a flip video camera, another was a small air hockey table.
CyndiLJ
I would love the museum membership, but we live 5 hours from the nearest real museum! I would love an event or something which we normally can not indulge in...but then again our location limits that in terms of availability, too. We have all the standard board games...any ideas for Big Cool More Expensive Ones??? Thanks for the idea generation!
aggieamy
Zombicide. It's a cooperative game and the new hotness around here. It's a bit gory but so much fun. I have no interest in gory or zombies and I love this game.

Denise in IN
Sorry I didn't get back to this thread earlier! We like Ticket to Ride (have the America one and also Asia- I love that one!). Those can be pricey. Also Settlers of Catan. I just saw a thread by 8Filltheheart on the General Ed board with some good strategy games suggestions as well. The Board Game Family is a great website for help in choosing board games!
