Random
Do you have your receipt for the deposit?
TammyinTN
I would be on the phone with the bank manager....definitely if you have your receipt of deposit they should be able to clear it up asap.
Guest inoubliable
Yes. Show your receipt for the deposit! Bank of America did this to us one year and we were stuck on Christmas morning unable to buy batteries for a toy! LOL. They fixed it the next day. Another, smaller, local bank did the same thing to us another time. They admitted their mistake by trying to tell us they had put the deposit into another customer's account - a customer who had the exact same name as DH. Riiight. It's a pretty uncommon name. :glare: Anyway, showing your receipt for the deposit should fix it up within minutes! Or ask them to review their security cameras, if you can't get to the bank, and request that they audit the teller's drawer.
MomtoCandJ
I have spoken to the manager but because I have a hand written reciept they won't honor it. There are many complaints about this whole thing :(
MomtoCandJ
I'm so stressing about this! Why now????

There are many complaints about this whole thing :( Whaaaat??? A handwritten receipt?? That's...a bit dark aged of them. And, that's crap that they wouldn't honor their own receipt. I'd be insisting that they review their security tapes to show that you most certainly there, made the deposit, and insist on a drawer audit. QumaCote
You can also contact Chemical's regulatory agency. If they are a state-chartered bank, it will be the state in which the charter is held. (I'm not sure if this Chemical Bank is the Financial company chartered in Michigan.) If they are a National Bank, it will be the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. The regulatory agency can often get action or answers for you because banks definitely want to keep them happy. Good Luck!

Mrs Mungo
Tell them you are calling the police, the FTC and the OCC about your stolen deposit. You might be surprised at how cooperative they get. My parents' bank once tried to deny a cash deposit made by my dad, he had a receipt. He said, "okay, well, I am calling the police then." They said, "what?" He said, "clearly one of your employees stole it. You have cameras, right? Time to call the police." They gave him credit for the deposit without any further argument. http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/index.shtml http://www.occ.gov/topics/consumer-protection/fraud-resources/index-fraud-resources.html

Spy Car
Not to mention every bank has security cameras that can verify you came in to make the deposit and which can prove the validity of the receipt. Start making demands, and escalate the demands (with a paper trail until they fold). Bill
