Teen Party

We have a birthday party at our house this weekend. I need some more ideas.

The menu so far:

Pizza

Veggie Pizza (I roll out canned crescent rolls, bake them, top with sour cream dip and chopped veggies, not a hot dish)

Meatballs

Fruit Tray

Chips and Dip-guacamole/tortilla chips, potato chips/french dip

Hummus and mini pitas

Hot Cocoa Bar

Cupcakes

Ice cream

Other food ideas? There will be about 15 teens-some of whom are vegetarians and some of whom are strapping teen boys (the teens are 15-18, not young teens/tweens).

How about game ideas?

I was thinking of something like this for party favors?

We think those huge marshmallows are funny in hot chocolate. I also found some shaped like sheep the other day. It so depends on the party but having cranium or a few group board games is fun. I'm not sure of the age of your crowd but cheeto head http://www.partygamecentral.com/gametmpstd.php?gnm=528 was a hit here a few years ago. I like your party bags. :D

My husband makes this amazing sausage dish for parties - except he cuts the sausages into 1 inch chunks instead of 1/2" slices. If you don't want to use beer, substitute coke or pepsi. It's been a hit with the teens here!

We haven't had too many parties with games, but Twister was popular for a while, as was playing Rock Band on the Nintendo thingy on the big screen tv. Oh, and some sort of DVD trivia game that they played on the big tv too (shouting out answers)

Okay, so after shopping, here is the list (no burrito bar because I had a taco bar at my last party :D):

Pizza

Veggie pizza

Deli meats, cheeses, brotchen (I SWEAR it is a word, autocorrect, I do not mean britches!!)

Taquitos

Guac and salsa (homemade) with tortilla chips

Potato chips and French onion dip

Fruit

Hot chocolate bar

Cupcakes and ice cream

Bonfires are big around here. We live in the country and the kids like to talk and roast marshmallows or hotdogs around a bonfire either in a large metal can or a real bonfire. They also like to play football...not sure if it might be too cold where you are though.

We organized seasonal Pictionary at one teen party. It was a costume party near Halloween, so we had written down appropriate clues. We didn't force anyone to draw who was uncomfortable with the idea of getting up in front of peers (oh, the horror!).

The last one we had was a bunch of kids in theater, and they ended up playing Zip Zap Zop and other theater games.

Dh always finds someone who can play piano, and then has people sing. He LOVES to do Christmas carols this time of year. As long as it's optional, a lot of kids do it. It might be that we have a lot of performers in our crowd, though.

So how did the party go, Mrs. Mungo?

If you recall, we had a teen party last weekend. I was surprised at how little they actually ate! My ds said it was because we had pizza AND snacks/appetizers. We had too much food in general, but it was the pizza, sweets, and FRUIT that were huge hits. Little of my snack-type food was eaten. The white-chocolate-dipped pretzel rods were a favorite, though. I guess one never outgrows sprinkles!

Our group wound up doing some singing around the piano as well - especially the girls.

Leftover food with teens? Wow! I usually have a lot of food, often with a similar mix to yours (pizza plus munchies plus sweets). There is rarely anything left. Every couple of hours, they re-converge on the kitchen and eventually it is just about all gone.
