Parrothead
We usually get dry powdery snow and don't have this issue. But this storm is freakishly dumping the wet heavy sticky kind. How do you keep the dish clear of snow? I'm about to make my way out onto the wet snow covered roof again for the 4th time in 24 hours to clear the snow off the dish. Is there anything to be done to keep it clear?
DianeW88
We had them mount our dish on the side of the house, six feet up, because of that very thing. We generally get powdery snow, too, but in the spring we can get the wet and heavy variety. I just go outside and sweep it off with a broom. Maybe you could get your dish remounted so it's easier to brush off. I'm not sure anything can be done to stop the accumulation.
Guest
Also, be aware that it can get misaligned by either the piling up snow or the brushing off of the snow. This happened to us before and we couldn't get it fixed for a while because dh did not want repairmen walking on our steep room when there was snow and ice. PrincessMommy
yes, we brushed off the snow. But, that was when it was stuck to a pole in the ground. Now it's on the roof. Dh says we may just have to wait out any storm we get. :glare:
