KungFuPanda
How did I get to the age of 40 without knowing this was a thing? DH and I lost an evening to watching Maori Haka dances on YouTube. THIS was my favorite, but it only makes sense if you've seen a regular one first. This just proves that I'll watch ANYTHING if dancing is involved. lewelma
Definitely a big thing here. Kids learn it in school! Here is the men in kilts versus the maori haka (Scotch whisky commercial): Ruth in NZ
Deb in NZ
The haka isn't really a dance, but more of a challenge & normally only men (not women) do the haka. Ds#2 learned it at school & it is pretty powerful to see 300 13-15yo do the Haka right in front of you! Ds#1 learned a haka as part of the pre-military course he took last year. Many in my town would find the gingerbread men doing the haka culturally offensive, but I live in a high Maori area. JMHO,
