Joshin
One of my boys went through a brief period of bed wetting around 4. It wasn't every night, but probably a good five out of seven. It only lasted a couple of months. I mentioned it at a ped appt and was told it was normal and usually a result of deeper sleep, increased food and water intake, and the failure of the bladder to keep up in size during a growth spurt. I was told it happens around that age and often again at the 7/8 growth spurt age. We just got through the 7 growth spurt, and there were a few bed wetting instances (maybe one a week). *********
Yep, totally normal. Moose has the occasional wetting episode. He's going through a growth spurt right now. At four years old, it'd not even be a blip on my radar. I think there's a HUGE range of normal for this, and your guy is likely just fine. I'd not sweat it at all. (This from the lady who has a dss who wet until this year. So yeah, I get the frustration/grossness factor, lol.)
Elinor Everywhere
Very normal! My son wet the bed sporadically (less than once a month) until he was about 13. Obvious triggers were staying up later than usual, and thereby drinking more water than usual, and being VERY tired (because he stayed up late) so he couldn't wake up to go to the bathroom. He just turned 15, and I think it's been at least 1.5 years or so since he wet the bed.
VeteranMom
My youngest started wetting the bed when he was 6. I took him to the doctor and he screened him for diabetes. He's about to turn 10 and still wets about once a week. I think it's related to allergies.
BigMamaBird
My 4 y/o son was much like what you describe. Dry during the night for months then all of a sudden he's wetting the bed every night. My Dd went through similar episodes well into her 6th year. She'd be dry for a long time and we thought she'd nailed it, then BAM all of a sudden she'd wet the bed for weeks. She hasn't done it for a very long time so we're hoping it's the end. But I'm just setting myself up to expect that with my son. No emotional or physical events that I can attribute it to. Part of me suspects growth spurts. Either way, we just soldier through and do TONS of laundry. :grouphug:

By the time my son was 10 he would just put the sheets & his jammies in the washer himself when he woke up, and I'd finish the load. We were very low-key and didn't stress him out over it. Oh, and we put a plastic sheet underneath his bottom sheet. That seemed to make him feel better.
Rosie_0801
He's probably taken a tumble and knocked his lower back out of alignment. A chiro can fix it, or you can wait for him to tumble the other way and knock it back in.
Ottakee
Is he constipated at all? That is the first thing our urologist checked.
