Jann in TX
We recently switched internet providers (to save money) and our new provider is not completely reliable--being that we live in the boonies. My husband upgraded my Ipad for my Christmas present. He went with a IPad 4 that has a Verizon cellular data plan option. The Verizon plan is $20 per month (when you need it- no contract). We got the Ipad all set up last night-- just in case. This morning our internet was down! I was able to switch my Ipad to the cellular data plan, selected 'use as hotspot' then had my Mac join the Ipad's wireless network. I was back in the land of internet in less than 5 minutes. Internet service is important-- it is my livelyhood and our older girl's college plan (I'm an online teacher)! The ATT Ipad has a similar option--but they have TONS of extra charges in addition to the cellular data plan. I LOVE how Apple products integrate so easily! C_l_e_0..Q_c
great! I'm happy it worked out. But I needed to raise my hand and say this has nothing to do with Apple. I do the same with my Android, and a Windows PC, and it works like magic, no fidgeting...
milovany
I work from home and need my internet to not go down because I transcribe in real time for students in classrooms around the country. IF my internet goes down, I have a little peace of mind knowing I could switch to using my Windows phone as a hotspot. I don't use Apple products, either. This is a Windows phone and PC.
