skimerinkydo Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 I asked Dh what he'd like for Christmas dinner and he said "smoked". I asked if he wanted smoked ham, he said no. We don't normally eat much meat so I don't have a lot of ideas here. Where can I look? Does Trader Joes have something good? Quote
KatieJ Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 Occasionally I have found whole smoked turkeys at Sam's. It's been awhile tho. They taste simliar to ham. Quote
Freckles Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 I'm from Texas. We smoke brisket!! It is so good. I'm not sure where you could get one already smoked if you don't live where barbeque is a way of life. Quote
Brilliant Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 Do you have a smoker? The last few years we have smoked a turkey at Thanksgiving. It turns out fantastic. This year we were traveling over Thanksgiving, and when we got home I roasted a turkey because I can't use the smoker and dh and ds were at work/school. The kids were so disappointed in the roasted turkey after all that smoked goodness in the last few years. :) We also regularly use our smoker for chickens and pork roasts, but that doesn't seem very special for Christmas. chiguirre Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 How about smoked salmon? That's yummy and readily available. Quote
Annie Laurie Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 Move to WA. MJ is now legal. Quote
Annie Laurie Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 We bought a smoked turkey from Costco. My dh also wanted something smoked, but I can't stand the smell of smoking meats. This way I can just toss it in the oven to warm it up, and that's it. Quote
