songsparrow Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 I am looking into the Michael Clay Thompson Language Arts materials. I have looked over the sample pages online, and I think that for my older daughter, the most appropriate choices are: Grammar & Vocabulary books from level 4 (Magic Lens and Word Within the Word), but Poetry & Writing books from level 3 (World of Poetry and Essay Voyage) For those of you that have used the various levels, is there any reason that I should not mix up the two levels? Crimson Wife Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 CE2 is plenty challenging for a middle school student. It has words that are similar to the 7th and 8th grade books in Sadlier-Oxford Vocabulary Workshop. I would just do the "voyage" level and beef up the grammar (which is IMHO the weakest part of MCT's LA). Quote
