plain jane
I've seen this recommended a few times here and have a couple of questions. What is the minimum age a child would have to be to play this game? What is the ideal number of players? The box says 2-7 players but I know most games have a "sweet" spot for number of people playing. Any other thoughts on this game that you would like to share? I'm trying to branch out a bit and a locally owned toy store has it on for 25% off so I am considering snagging it, but only if it is realistic for my family to be able to play it. :)
mamatohaleybug
I love it with two people but DH says it's fun with 4. I think it's too complicated for my 10 year old so we've never tried it with her. DH and I just played it tonight. Our current favorite. Great game! mamatohaleybug
I've changed my mind. We played three times with our 10 year old and she did VERY well! I'm so excited! So definitely, the lower age limit (13) can be pushed way back.
hellen
We have it. I think it's a good game. My seven year old is able to play it but I can't remember if he can play well enough to win. It's been a while since we played. I've only played with two and three players. I like a highly tactical game so two players was great for me. I find that multilayer games become more tactical and less random with fewer players. Not everybody likes that in a game.
dbmamaz
I played it once at a game convention. We had 5 players and one of them was maybe 10, and i helped him a bit but he got the idea - but he was a gamer in a family of gamers. I actually didnt like the game that much - it felt like it was just about shopping - see how much 'credit' you can get and then decide what to buy with it. But very complicated! I was the only person i found who didnt like it, though. you could check out reviews on boardgamegeek website
plain jane
Dh watched the review of how to play it and found it to be more complicated than he was interested in learning. Perhaps I will snag Ticket to Ride instead.
Julie Smith
WE have it and played it many times. My eight year old can play it no problem and sometimes beats adults. My newly 7 year old can play it, but his score is usually on the lower end - but not always. He is helpful to have around since he doesnt ike to play so can help new players. He can look at everything played so far and tell the new player what he can and can not play in his current hand. ETA, we are big board gamers, so my kids are I suppose you would say, are accelerated in board games.
