ereks mom
I found an unopened block of mozzarella cheese in the refrigerator drawer just now. On the side of the package, it says, "Best Before (*gulp*) 4/25/08"!! :001_huh: I opened it, and it looks & smells fine and the texture is normal. I'm about to make a semi-homemade pizza. Are we likely to get sick if I use this cheese?
Sasharowan
I would use it, especially on something that is going to be cooked, as long as it looks and smells fine.
percytruffle
I would use it if there is no mold and I am pretty picky about food freshness!
JFSinIL
If it was going to be bad I think you'd either smell it or see green fuzz. I'd go ahead and use it. Hey, it has been in the 'fridge! Sealed in its original package. :) Cheese, heck, FOOD is too $$$$ to waste nowadays!
Peek a Boo
I'd use it. and if part of it was nasty green, I'd cut it off and STILL use the rest. cheese is pretty flexible ;)
Laurel
I freak out easily over food freshness, but I would use it as long as there's no mold.
PrairieAir
I'd use it. and if part of it was nasty green, I'd cut it off and STILL use the rest. cheese is pretty flexible ;) Yup, that's what I do. Cheese rarely lasts that long around here, though. It would have to get shoved back into some deep, dark crevice in the fridge to actually get to the point of molding. E_Edgerton
If it look, feels and mostly importantly smells good...go for it. Hope your pizza is yummy!:)
Remudamom
Eat it, and if you turn green none of us gave you this advice. Kidding, it's fine!
Desert Rat
Another vote for using it as long as it smells and feels right.

*anj*
You've obviously already eaten this, at least I hope so. See? It was fine, wasn't it?
