aggieamy Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 I ran by the grocery store near my house this morning and as I pulled up I couldn't help but notice all the police tape, CSI van, and tons of marked and unmarked police cars in the area right beside the store. Someone found a woman's body there this morning. This is a highly visible urban area. It's a nice part of town. It's a nice grocery store. I don't know what to think. I'm sad and a little ... I don't know. I can't think of words. Poor lady. :( Quote
Catwoman Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 :( How sad. Something very similar happened here a few years ago. It turned out that the woman's crazy ex-husband followed her to the store and killed her in her car in the parking lot. (She had a restraining order against him, and the news reports said she lived in fear of the man.) Quote
Guest inoubliable Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 :( How awful. I hope the case progresses quickly and the family of that woman has closure as soon as possible! Quote
SunnyDays Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 How awful. I think it's always unsettling when something like that happens near your own area. :grouphug: Quote
Moxie Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 It is very sad. If it makes you feel better, most of these kinds of situations are domestic. Doesn't make it any better but at least you probably won't be a target. Quote
justamouse Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 That is sad. I dunno, Aggie, I think it's the times. My county, that never has *any* murders, has had three this month. Quote
lovinmomma Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Uhhh... I think you live near me. Yes, you do. It's very sad, isn't it? Quote
PinkInTheBlue Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 That is so sad. :( It would be really stuck in my mind if I had come across that also. (not the lady's body but the drive-by) Quote

A husband, wife, and wife's mom went to the grocery store; the two women waited in the car while the man went inside. Unbeknownst to her mother, the younger woman took her dh's handgun out of the glovebox (he's in law enforcement), got out of the car & walked to the edge of the woods that back up to the grocery store property, and shot herself right in front of her mother. I heard that she had been distraught because of cosmetic surgery gone wrong. Terrible, terrible tragedy. Quote
aggieamy Posted December 4, 2012 Author Posted December 4, 2012 Yes, you do. It's very sad, isn't it? The last news article I saw was mentioned that they were trying to see if she was possible on her way to work and was checking with local stores. :( So sad! The professionals treating the person who wanted to get to me also feared for my life. Police could do nothing. Unless/until the person actually does something illegal (the threat to kill me wasn't illegal? Isn't that criminal threatening?) the police could do nothing. I was forced to live in fear. Quote
