MomtoCandJ
Can any tell me more about daisy Girl Scouts? I vaguely remember Brownies but I'm sure a lot has changed in 20 years.
chiguirre
Daisies are K and 1st graders. They work on petals to make a daisy. Our troop is multi-level so our Daisies do the opening ceremony with the Brownies and Juniors and then go off to work on their petal while the Brownies and Juniors go off to work on their advancement. We do field trips together. The Daisies wear blue smocks as a uniform and are extremely cute.
lea_lpz
We considered doing Daisies for my kindergartner and discovered their was an American Heritage Girls troop, with a Pathfinder unit for K'ers. It's Christ centered and modeled after the Boy Scouts program. This is the website if it sounds like something you are interested in. http://www.ahgonline.org/
ravinlunachick
I agree with chiguirre's summary. Daisies are more about learning the foundational ideas behind Girl Scouting, while Brownies start getting down to the more practical. At least, that's been our experience. Troops certainly vary quite a bit.
