Jeannie in NJ Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 my dd got a call this morning from the family that Natalie was found safe in Texas. A Texas policeman spotted the car at 3:30 am and found Natalie asleep in it. I just went online to our town's local website and it has been posted there also that she is found. Thanks for all of your prayers. No info yet on what happened to her for the last 5 days or if she had been with someone. She was by herself when she was found (I believe that is the case, things are a little sketchy). SHe was in Mesquite, Texas Quote
CupOCoffee Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Oh, how wonderful! Thanks so much for the update!! ~coffee~ Quote
Elinor Everywhere Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 What a huge relief!! I'm so glad. Quote
1bassoon Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Great news - thanks for letting us know! Quote
Annie G Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 So glad she's been found and that she's safe. If you hear more of the story and can share, I'd really be interested. I can't figure out how she drove to Texas with no driving experience and being, well, 16! I'm not sure *I* could find my way to Texas without my GPS and my debit card so I could eat long the way. Quote
butterflymommy Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Wow! Thank god. How did she pay for gas w/o being tracked? I hope her life can get back to normal. And that police officer deserves an enormous thank you!! Quote
Jeannie in NJ Posted December 3, 2012 Author Posted December 3, 2012 yes, Texas and especially Mesquite should be proud of that police officer Quote
BigMamaBird Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 I don't know the story, but any time a missing child is found safely, I get a bit misty. Thanks for the good news! Quote
Guest inoubliable Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Texas?! Good grief! I am so glad to hear that this story had a happy ending! Quote
Anne in CA Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 I would love to hear the story of how she got to TX myself. I have been praying for the girl. The son of a friend ran off for three days when he was 16 and my friend aged about ten years in those three days. I have never forgotten the sound of her voice when he was gone two days with no clues where he was. Quote
TexasRachel Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Wow. I'm glad she's safe. That's some trip. Quote
fraidycat Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Great news! I am also interested in the story of how (and why) she got all the way to Texas. Quote
idnib Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Thank God. I'd also like to know how she got to TX. I know it's big and hard to miss, but still! Quote
dangermom Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 I'm so glad she's been found safe. I hope they can all heal a bit. What a relief that she has been found. I would also like to know how she got to Texas. Where did the gas come from? I suppose if she was by herself she may have just driven on freeways until she wound up in Mesquite at random? Which gives me horrible shivers to think about, what if she'd run out of gas in the desert? Quote
Eagle Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 So scary. I'm relieved to hear she was found safe. Quote
Tullia Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Relieved and thankful at the good news. I've been checking for updates often. Quote
PrincessMommy Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 I'm so glad she was found and she's safe. Quote
Jeannie in NJ Posted December 3, 2012 Author Posted December 3, 2012 the police keep going back and forth on if she was alone or with a guy. Wonder what info she will give the police. Dd's friend and friend's mother are figuring out how to get to Texas (Natalie had taken their only car). Knowing how our community is there will be help for them, also probably from their church and also from the high school. That is just the way people are here. Quote
Catwoman Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 I'm so relieved to hear that she is OK -- I was starting to fear the worst as so many days passed. When her mom finally sees her, she probably won't know whether to hug her or slug her -- what an awful thing that girl did by running off like that without telling anyone where she was going... and stealing the family's only car to do it! I'm glad she's OK, but her family must be so hurt, confused, and heartbroken that she pulled a stunt like that. Quote
Desert Rat Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Great news! I hope everything is okay with her. Quote
UmMusa Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Thank God she was found. Way to go Mesquite police for finding the car at 3am. Quote
A.Balaban Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 So glad to hear that he has been found. Quote
swellmomma Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 PTL! It will be interesting to see what she has to say for herself. What an ordeal for that family to go through. Quote
Trish Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Tough to picture a non-driver making it all the way to Texas. What a great outcome, though, after so many days I'm sure her parents were frantic! Quote
Kim in Appalachia Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 I'm so glad she's ok! Her parents must be so relieved. Quote
thescrappyhomeschooler Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 What a relief. I hope she gets back home safe and sound and that nothing bad happened along the way. Quote
