I am looking at getting e-readers for the family. While shopping, I started thinking it would be really nice to have a tablet for one of us. I've been trying to research on the web- but it's hard to find what I need.

I would like a video camera that points forward- away from the screen. Is that called a back or rear camera? And then the camera that points toward the person looking at the screen is a front camera? I want to be able to video my daughter doing gymnastics...

Can my family share e-books? Does it work like i-tunes, where I can put any of the songs I own on any device? If I sign up for the Amazon Prime borrow books program, can I share that with my daughter who lives in Florida?

Thanks for any help- I am new to all this! No smart phone, no tablets of any kind, PC computers.

On Kindles you guys can all share the Amazon accounts on any Kindle devices and share books. Kindle Fires are much less expensive than iPads although iPads are still the best. If you are thinking of getting multiples of something you less expensive but linkable options would be regular keyboard Kindles and whoever you're thinking of giving a tablet to gets a Fire. Or get everyone a Fire :) Or buy everyone iPads! ;)

Seriously though, if I can be of further help, let me know.

I have a Samsung galaxy s2 phone and looooove it. We have been tablet shopping and found that several places have the 7 and 10 inch versions for 180-250. I have an amazon and B&N app on my phone and they work great. Plus my phone is lime a tiny fully functional computer, just a bit small to easily do some things.

I pads are out of our price range, and I don't like the limits on the kindle and Nook tablets. The galaxy has Google play which has a bazillion great apps and it syncs up super painlessly with my Google mail and drive, and my windows 7 based computer.
