Joanne
The first batch served my family: with shredded seasoned chicken, cheese, corn and salsa charro beans refried beans I froze some in lunch portions and took them to lunch for work with brown rice. Awesomeness. :)
Audrey
:hurray: I have some red beans soaking for tomorrow, myself. Have a happy been-week!
Lang Syne Boardie
That sounds delicious! I'm on a lentil kick right now, because I have too much going on and can't remember to soak the stupid beans. You don't have to soak lentils. They are the fast food of the bean world. Spy Car
I rinsed them last time! My bean guru said to. ;) In all seriousness this is one of the best things you can do. Beans are extremely healthful, delicious, and are pretty economical. Next think about branching out with other sorts of beans and lentils. If you have ethnic markets around you consider popping in an trying some beans you've never had before. It is amazing how much tastes and textures of different pulses vary. This way beans don't become monotonous, and you enjoy variety. Just a thought. Glad it is working for you! Bill
SunnyDays
The dish you listed with chicken sounds great! What kind of beans did you use? I *really* need to get better about experimenting with beans, there are so many things that sound delicious and I just need to actually try them!!
