How would you handle this? (Math)

I have 2 kids who are both in MUS Epsilon. My dd is about 7 lessons ahead of her brother. They are both struggling with how MUS teaches fractions (and I am struggling with teaching it too), so I bought the Key to Fractions books...hoping to use those instead....my problem is, that my daughter really struggles with her 1 1/2 year younger brother being exactly where she is in Math. So, how do I take them both out of MUS and into key to fractions and not have them get into a competition (my son is VERY competitive and my daughter struggles more with math than her brother...so it is very possible for my son to move ahead of my daughter and that won't do a thing for my daughters already lacking confindence. ) Is there another easy to understand program to teach fractions for my son to use, while my daughter uses key to fractions...or what would you do in this situation?

One thought--use different math programs for each one, so they aren't comparing lessons (though they may still compare concepts).

Another thought--could you back your youngest one up a bit--maybe fractions will come easier to him in another 6 months or a year, and meanwhile you can solidify some previous concepts with him.
