Journey
So i'm struggling financially, like most other people. I have a charge card that i only use for emergenices but those emergencies have give me a $2,000 balance. Since i am the only bread winner in my family (single mom) there is no way that i am going to be able to pay that balance off. I can only make a few dollars over the minimum due each month. I have heard of charge card companies helping the customer by reducing the debt or something like that. The card is not and has never been, in collections but if them helping me pay this thing off somehow is an option, i would like to take advantage of it. I don't even know if it is though. Has anyone been through this? I'm also looking into cancelling my verizon (there are five lines on my policy) and paying the early termination fee to reduce that monthly bill. Things are just getting very, very tight and i am very, very scared.
Mrs Mungo
What is your interest rate? Call and see if you can lower your interest rate. Or see if you qualify for a card that will allow you to transfer the balance to a card with zero interest on balance transfers for a year. Either of those things would make it easier to pay off. Guest inoubliable
I've heard of some companies deferring minimum payments during the holidays. It couldn't hurt for you to call up your credit card company and ask them what they can offer.
