chocoholic Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 Is anyone else in the same boat as me? My dd will finish up her third and last year of Classical Conversations's Essentials of English Grammar program this year. If so, what have you used for 7th grade grammar? Quote
TCoppock Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 My son used Shurley English (up to level 4 or 5) followed by Rod and Staff (he is now on book 8) prior to CC Essentials. When he took Essentials I remember thinking it looked like a blend of the two programs. We are no longer in CC but continue to use Rod and Staff with great results. We still use the sentence questions at times when DS gets stuck on diagramming, but R&S has given him a far greater grasp on the English language than I was ever taught. I would highly recommend it. bethben Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 You could review with some of Analytical Grammar's review books. There is a lot of parsing and diagraming in the review books - not much more. It would keep the parsing skills reviewed without too much pain and agony. Beth Quote
stm4him Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 When we finish Essentials (which we start next year) i plan to have mine do Saxon Grammar and Writing 7 and 8. Hopefully by high school they'll be "done" with grammar, though. Quote
