cin
Dh and I are thinking about going with the girls sometime in February. Anybody ever been to one of these? The deal he's found includes food, but we were wondering if there were other activities outside of the resort that might be good? Or what the resort might have that would be fun. We will be researching it, but was wondering if anyone has BTDT, and if it was any good. TIA! Cindy

creekland
We haven't been, but we'd be willing to go along with you and offer our opinions as long as you could foot the bill. :coolgleamA: Have fun if you decide to go! We do know some families around here who have gone and loved it. They never talked about anything outside the resort - just the oodles of things they enjoyed doing there (mostly revolving around water). AnaShoo
I haven't stayed there, but went with my son for a class trip while we lived on a different island. The resort itself is huge, beautiful, and there is a ton of stuff to do. His class got a private tour, and I think we went to parts of the aquarium most people can't usually, but I am not positive. Either way, the aquarium was amazing - the shark tube was by far the best part! There is a waterpark on site, too. I would look at whether there is a separate fee or not for certain things there - I am unclear on what is included in a stay and what is another costs as we didn't stay there! As for outside, there are a lot of touristy things. Be aware that you aren't visiting America, and you'll have fun - and it's a very poor coutry as soon as you leave the tourist areas. There is a slave museum, and a small zoo (that was so much more hands-on than any American zoo I've ever been to! My six year old got to dance with Flamingoes, and he was so excited!). Things like McDonalds are there. I am sure you'll find plenty to do - it will just be a matter of how much you want to spend.
carina
I went a little over ten years ago. If I remember correctly there is quite a bit to do right there including just hanging out on the beach. There are water slides, and aquariums, and shopping. Carrie75
It's a nice resort. The poverty outside of the resort can be overwhelming.
