wonderfilled
I want to get the miniLUK starter pack for my son's birthday next week. I also want to get a set of additional books to go with it. For those of you who have used this, is there any you prefer? I've looked on CBD and Timberdoodle but there are not enough samples to give me a good idea of what is in them. He is very determined and loves puzzles so I'm open to getting him ones that are above his age level. Thanks!
thegirlwhopaintedtrees
We got the Young Explorer Set 2 for our 3 and 5 year old to share as one of their Christmas presents. They already have the Starter pack. It may be too easy for my 5 yr old, but I wanted the 3 yr old to be able to use it too, as he is the one who likes to play with the miniLUK more. I would have preferred to get the Advance Collection Set for the 5 yr old, but that will have to be a present down the road. The Young Explorer Set will be about the same difficulty level as the Starter Pack, and says it is for ages 5-7, and the Advance Collection looks more challenging (too challenging for my 3 yr old) and says ages 7 and up. I'm not sure how old your son is. I hope my answer helps:) My son LOVES the miniLUK, but still wants me to sit next to him while he uses it. wonderfilled
Thanks. My son will be five. (I mentioned his age in the topic question, but I know it's easy to miss.) I ended up getting him one of the book sets in the Advanced collection (Higher Order Thinking). I think he will be able to do it with a little help, and he has three older brothers that will be glad to help. If we like it, I'll get him some more books for Christmas. I was afraid to get him something that is too easy for him. I hope I didn't err on the side of getting something that is too hard.
