my2boysteacher
DS has become obsessed with a light up stuffed dog which his grandma found at a thrift store. Of course she won't let him have it, but would rather it sit in a box and collect dust. Grrrrrr! Anyway, they don't make them anymore, and there are a couple on €bay. Looks like we'll be shelling out more than we'd like for it. Anyone else after something HTF?
jujsky
Well that's silly. If you talked to grandma and told her you were trying to find one on e-bay because DS likes it so much, would she give it to him?

Ghee
How about a woody woodpecker toy set? One with woody, walrus, and the woman....and the tree house. I can thank dd for suggesting yds put this on his Santa list. I've google fu'd it to death, it isn't happening.

my2boysteacher
Thanks for the bump. :). I am glad you mentioned the light up pillow, he wants one of those, too! I will have to check Walmart. vonfirmath
I would NOT pay that for something with battery corrosion. You're going to have just as much an unhappy boy if it stops working! ProudGrandma
this isn't a toy that is HTF but very much wanted, none the less, by my 8 year old. About 3 weeks ago I was running through Walmart and the boys found a nice dress set that they wanted to wear for Christmas church. I quickly grabbed one of each of the sets that they wanted (looked at the size on the hanger, but didn't match the size to the actual clothing)....well, needless to say, I brought home the wrong size for my younger son....I went back to Walmart yesterday and all of his size was already gone. The suit he wanted was a BRIGHT blue shirt, black pants, black pinned stripped vest and blue striped tie. Size 6-7. They dont' even have that set on line (my other's son's set is but not the one that I want)....so if anybody would be willing to check their local Wal-mart for this little suit, I would be greatful...I will be happy to pay for it and the shipping. THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!

Not sure I want to pay that much for one that has battery pack corrosion. :( I am not one to spend insane amounts of money on a child's whim, but he never asks for anything..... That seller is asking a ridiculous amount of money for a used stuffed animal. I'm sorry grandma is being so mean. I'd coach my kid to ask grandma for it in the most pathetic way possible so she'd feel like the worst grandma in the world for depriving him. Well, if grandma asks what he wants for Christmas, tell her the only thing he wants is that dog. Don't give her any other ideas or suggestions. Tell her that is the one and only thing he's asked for. You know, I'd say I can't imagine a grandmother doing this to a grandchild, but I can totally see MIL doing this to the kids. She just doesn't get a child's attachment to their toys. My DD brought her box of Barbie dolls over to play last weekend and she tried to get her to keep them there because DD has "too many toys at home." DD started to look concerned so I jumped in with, "These are her only Barbies. She's not leaving them here." She pulls crap like that all the time. She'll come over and tell the kids they have too many toys and HAVE to get rid of some of them, then the kids get all worked-up and upset -- especially DD who is really good about purging her toys a few times/year and willingly gave me a bunch of her doll clothes for the doll I bought for my adopt-a-kid this year. That woman drives me batty! I hope yours isn't that bad and is just weird about this one dog issue. I still think she's being mean, mean, mean though. My mom has stuffed animals at her house for the kids, but she'll let the kids trade with her if they want to keep something she has instead. She doesn't care so long as there's something at her house they can play with.

There were several holidays and birthdays where she bought my children several things, and the item they loved the most was the one she would then say "Oh, that's to stay here at my house so you have something to play with when you come." I'm sorry, if you actually wrap something up to give to a child and give it to them to unwrap, you no longer have possession of that item.
