Is anyone else searching for a HTF toy for Christmas?

DS has become obsessed with a light up stuffed dog which his grandma found at a thrift store. Of course she won't let him have it, but would rather it sit in a box and collect dust. Grrrrrr!

Anyway, they don't make them anymore, and there are a couple on €bay. Looks like we'll be shelling out more than we'd like for it. Anyone else after something HTF?

Thanks for the bump. :). I am glad you mentioned the light up pillow, he wants one of those, too! I will have to check Walmart.

Yes, I meant hard to find. :)

Here is a link to an auction with the stuffed dog he fell in love with:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Cepia-Glo-E-GloE-Kinetics-Color-Changing-12-Plush-Curly-Hair-White-Dog-/200807725151?pt=Stuffed_Animals_US&hash=item2ec112b85f

I put in a lower offer, but it was refused. Not sure I want to pay that much for one that has battery pack corrosion. :(

I am not one to spend insane amounts of money on a child's whim, but he never asks for anything.....

I would NOT pay that for something with battery corrosion. You're going to have just as much an unhappy boy if it stops working!

There is a similar bear at: http://www.ebay.com/itm/gloE-White-Plush-Bear-by-Cepia-Exclusively-For-Color-Kinetics-/400314069662?pt=US_Dolls_Bears_Toys&hash=item5d3493f29e

This sounds similar, but the $20 shipping is killer: http://www.amazon.com/Really-cuddly-night-watcher-little/dp/B002QFEXOG/ref=pd_sim_sbs_t_40

Could you buy the Glomate and stuff it in a stuffed dog somehow?? http://www.amazon.com/Mobi-70174-Glomate-Junior/dp/B003WKW6J8/ref=pd_sim_sbs_t_9 Just need to figure out how to turn it on to glow...

Oh and here's similar at Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/ChuChi-The-Plushie-Portable-Night-Light/dp/B002W7H1YW/ref=pd_sim_sbs_t_2

I'm sure you've probably already seen this, but it's at $8 right now....and the person is willing to ship worldwide, so maybe you could snag it for an acceptable price? Especially if you snipe him (bid your max at the very last second).

ETA: Too bad you don't live in the UK....their Amazon still has it (not sure how the price is??) http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gloe-Colour-Change-Dog-White/dp/B000X29ADS

this isn't a toy that is HTF but very much wanted, none the less, by my 8 year old. About 3 weeks ago I was running through Walmart and the boys found a nice dress set that they wanted to wear for Christmas church. I quickly grabbed one of each of the sets that they wanted (looked at the size on the hanger, but didn't match the size to the actual clothing)....well, needless to say, I brought home the wrong size for my younger son....I went back to Walmart yesterday and all of his size was already gone. The suit he wanted was a BRIGHT blue shirt, black pants, black pinned stripped vest and blue striped tie. Size 6-7. They dont' even have that set on line (my other's son's set is but not the one that I want)....so if anybody would be willing to check their local Wal-mart for this little suit, I would be greatful...I will be happy to pay for it and the shipping. THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!

That seller is asking a ridiculous amount of money for a used stuffed animal. I'm sorry grandma is being so mean. I'd coach my kid to ask grandma for it in the most pathetic way possible so she'd feel like the worst grandma in the world for depriving him.

Well, if grandma asks what he wants for Christmas, tell her the only thing he wants is that dog. Don't give her any other ideas or suggestions. Tell her that is the one and only thing he's asked for. You know, I'd say I can't imagine a grandmother doing this to a grandchild, but I can totally see MIL doing this to the kids. She just doesn't get a child's attachment to their toys. My DD brought her box of Barbie dolls over to play last weekend and she tried to get her to keep them there because DD has "too many toys at home." DD started to look concerned so I jumped in with, "These are her only Barbies. She's not leaving them here." She pulls crap like that all the time. She'll come over and tell the kids they have too many toys and HAVE to get rid of some of them, then the kids get all worked-up and upset -- especially DD who is really good about purging her toys a few times/year and willingly gave me a bunch of her doll clothes for the doll I bought for my adopt-a-kid this year. That woman drives me batty! I hope yours isn't that bad and is just weird about this one dog issue. I still think she's being mean, mean, mean though. My mom has stuffed animals at her house for the kids, but she'll let the kids trade with her if they want to keep something she has instead. She doesn't care so long as there's something at her house they can play with.

If anyone comes across a Monster High Deuce Gorgon doll (like Barbie from what I know), please PM me. A friend has been looking all over for this - one of only 3 things her daughter is asking for this year! I have had no luck, even with family checking in various stores. Apparently he is a popular one??

I'll be in two different Walmarts this afternoon, so I'll be sure to check and see if they have the right suit. I don't have a lot of hope for the first Walmart I'll be in, but the second one usually has a better selection.

Yes, I'm searching for an Atari Flashback 4 game console for my husband. He saw it in a Radioshack ad. I've searched online, but can't find one. I even bought one but the seller cancelled the order.

Is this it?

Well, the good news is that she will be able to get it. The bad news is that it's not being made any more, so the prices are ridiculous.

There's a set of two dolls on Amazon (the price is CRAZY HIGH) -- is that what she's looking for?

Here it is on eBay for $95, but shipping is high:

Here's a link to all of the current eBay auctions:

I think she's being mean, too. Who holds toys hostage???

Perhaps this year, you could get Grandma a lovely piece of jewelry for Christmas. And tell her you're keeping it at your house, but she can have it to wear every time she comes to visit you. :glare:

My MIL used to do this. There were several holidays and birthdays where she bought my children several things, and the item they loved the most was the one she would then say "Oh, that's to stay here at my house so you have something to play with when you come." I'm sorry, if you actually wrap something up to give to a child and give it to them to unwrap, you no longer have possession of that item. Finally DH had to step in and tell her this was no longer allowed. I'm sorry this is the thing he loves the most right now. =(

Nothing at the two Walmarts I visited today -- one didn't have anything dressy for boys at all, and the second one had the outfit, but it was too small. :( They were almost sold out of the dressy stuff -- there was only one little rack -- I'll bet they sold a lot of stuff to people whose kids needed clothes for Thanksgiving or who were having Christmas pictures taken.

I will pass another Walmart when I'm out tomorrow, and I'll stop in and see if they have the right outfit in the right size.

OH THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!! If you guys find my outfit, I will be eterally grateful!!! Everybody I have asked from my family in different parts of the country have come up empty handed too...but I am still REALLY hoping. My next hope is to maybe try and find something similar someplace else....but I haven't found that yet either...and for sure not for that price....

You can fix the battery corrosion by using q-tips to gently wash it using rubbing alcohol. Be careful so you don't get it on your skin. I've fixed many toys that way!
