Sorry I am late getting this up, everyone!!! I guess we will be starting this on Tuesday LOL.

This week we are working on our kids' rooms, hopefully with their help (arent you excited????)

Tuesday Nov 27

Task: Empty dresser drawers, refold and reorganize. Anything that is ripped, totally stained throw away. If too small, give to goodwill or a relative or friend.

Wednesday Nov 28

Task: Tackle the closets!! I know, a big job. This might take a couple of days, so we'll work on it tomorrow also.

Thursday Nov 29

Task; Continue working on closets

Friday Nov 30

Task: The shelves!!!! Dust em down, remove all items, throw away anything broken, give away anything your child has outgrown or no longer uses. I am pretty ruthless in this department, but YMMV.

Saturday Nov 31

Task: Night tables, side tables, desks. Organize, wipe down, etc.

Sunday Dec 1 Optional

Task: Vacuum floor, wipe baseboards.

I'm so glad you started these challenges a few weeks ago. I have not been on your posted schedule because I had just done these parts of my house within the last few months. My multiples group has a yard sale twice a year and that helps keep the boys' clothes and toys purged and organized for me. I did organize the 3 junk drawers in my kitchen. I have managed to get the boys' craft area totally organized -- I had 2 and 3 of things because I couldn't find what I needed at the time and went out to buy more. Now every craft item for the boys is in one place. So happy :-). I needed to clean out my dining room that contained plastic bins and boxes from our old house. I have gone through all but 2 of those and plan to finish that this week. All my paperwork is filed away or recycled except for the medical stuff for this year. That will be done this week. I have a new filing system on my kitchen desk that gives me a place to put things until I get to them (store coupons, receipts, incoming mail that needs to be addressed). I am going through the mail when it comes in the doors and recycling what I can right away.

I have loaded and organized 9 months worth of digital photographs and backed them up. I still have to do last Decembers when we went to Disney for 2 weeks and the had Christmas a week later. I will not likely get to that until January. Then...my bedroom (the sitting area of the room) and craft room both have stuff EVERYWHERE. Pictures, boys' artwork, pamphlets I've kept from field trips, all the boys' formal portraits that I haven't really done anything with, etc. I'm planning to have this done before Christmas. I am trying to keep up with the cleaning and laundry so I don't get behind on that while I get caught up on other areas.

I told my husband that I don't know what has gotten into me. DH said "I don't know either, but whatever it is, don't let it out!" LOL He is thrilled and is willing to do whatever task I assign him to get this done :-). I'm like the energizer bunny these days and just want this done. So tired of thinking and worrying about it and just want it done.

I took before pictures and may post them when I get all the after done. Anyway, thanks again for the motivation.

Oooh, good one! We've been buying winter clothing, but haven't really decluttered the summer stuff, so my kids have double the mess in their rooms. This is the motivation I need!

I haven't been able to do as much as I had hoped this month; things got busy so fast, but what I have gotten done makes a huge difference in my attitude toward our home for the holidays. Thanks, again!

Halcyon, I've been meaning to get on the boards all week to see what the new challenge is and AAARRRHHHH!!!!! I'm scared of my kids' bedrooms. But off I go to just do something in there!

Wanted to tell you how thankful I am for all of these challenges this month. When I was cleaning my kitchen to get it ready for Thanksgiving entertaining, I was so thankful I had done the kitchen challenges! And I've been working hard at keeping my living room up to snuff. I've been really thinking about what needs to be in there! So THANK YOU!

Okay i didnt get to the shelves today, but I did rent a rug doctor and carpet clean the entire house. OMG. You would not believe how much black water came up from our rugs! Granted, we moved in 4 months ago so I am blaming it all on the former residents, but EW gross. The carpets look amazing now! That was pretty hard work as I had to move the furntiture around, so I will try and catch up with the rest of the boys room this weekend.

You're welcome!! Next week is the school area/room fun fun! Even if you just do 10 minutes a day, really, you're getting a lot done! My living room is looking so inviting and warm and cozy. I love it!

My husband did our living room rug last weekend, it took him several hours to clean the rug but now it feels crunchy. He went over it with just plain water after he shampooed it so I'm not sure why it is crunchy. We were planning on doing hte upstairs this weekend but now I think we will hold off until we figure out why it is crunchy.

I haven't been able to follow your list because my house is in very bad disarray, but I have been making progress:

- Donated three large boxes of random junk.

- Sold items on ebay

- Organized kitchen (still working on some areas in kitchen, but we have a counter top, no dish clutter, and a clean kitchen table... so hey! that is great!)

- Sorting through kids clothing to get rid of clothing that no longer fits (split between donating/selling)

- Went through storage unit and are donating/ditching/getting rid of several large boxes.

Next big project is the office.
