teeniebeenie6
Our local grocery put their remaining pie pumpkins on sale for $0.25 each. Some have tiny dark spots on them that like like little bruises, some have little white areas grown on the skin. They feel nice and firm and I cut one open and the flesh is nice and bright orange. How do I know if a pumpkin safe to eat or not? Thanks :)
Woodhaven
Agreed. I'd use them as long as they were normal looking under the skin. If there are bad spots, cut well around them. I'd cut the pumpkins in half and put cut side down on a large cookie tray and bake at 350 for an hour, or until done. Then I'd scoop out the "flesh" and freeze it until I was ready to use it. Sounds like a good deal
