ILiveInFlipFlops Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 If you do, will you share? I'd like to start a tradition of a Christmas morning breakfast and a New Year's morning breakfast. For Christmas morning, I'm thinking I'm going to make Quiver's famous cinnamon rolls. I'm usually up late anyway, wrapping gifts and prepping stockings, so I'll be able to wait for rising dough at the same time. But for New Year's morning, I'm not sure what I want to do. We usually host family the night before and are up late, so I don't want to be having to prep something big (like the cinnamon rolls) while people are still here. But I'm also usually wiped the next morning, so I'd like something smashing but fairly quick to prepare. I found this recipe (I usually cook from scratch, but I don't mind using the Grands for speed and general yumminess once a year  ), and it sort of fits the bill, but I'm not quite satisfied yet and would love other ideas. Thanks! Quote
QueenCat Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 No.... we eat little for breakfast on New Years Day because we go to a huge party that afternoon. Friends from Puerto Rico host a huge party with lots of traditional Puerto Rican food. Quote
MarinesWife Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 For Christmas we do cinnamon rolls and mimosas. I also get a package of bagels .. I don't like cinnamon rolls. :) For New Year's I do biscuits and gravy, hashbrowns, eggs, mimosas. Quote

DH will like that idea :-) No.... we eat little for breakfast on New Years Day because we go to a huge party that afternoon. DH's mom is Puerto Rican, so we have the pork and the pasteles and the beans and rice and so on. On New Year's Day we're on our own though, just recovering from the night before and the holidays in general! Quote

Thanks! Your recipe sounds delicious! I have used this for Christmas brunch -- it can be fixed ahead and baked the next day.
