MrsBasil
I went the other day and it was really wonderful. The art, particularly the statues were breathtaking. I did not talk to any of the actors, but the families with kids seemed to really be enjoying them. There were 3 or 4 videos, two which had multiple benches for seating. One showed the town before, during, and after the eruption. The skeletons from Herculaneum and the casts from Pompeii were, well interesting I guess, but it was at the end of the exhibit and they affected me in a way I hadn't thought they would. I didn't look too closely. There were 1 or 2 dog casts as well. I know someone asked earlier, but I can't find the thread. There were a few things that I heard other adults complaining about. There was a fresco showing a woman with two men and there were some lamps that had, among other art work, an erect walking phallus, a man and woman in bed, and I don't remember what else. There are signs pointing out what you're looking at. They didn't bother me and they were easy enough to walk by if you wanted, but I did hear some complaints from other people there. I really enjoyed it and would recommend going! On to Van Gogh tomorrow!
SJ.
Thanks, I think you are referencing a post I made. I am going to be visiting the Pompeii exhibit in January and hopefully Van Gogh sometime before it ends. Please update after you go to the Van Gogh exhibit! Glad you had fun. :)
