6packofun
I see lots of questions about gifts for girls but none for younger boys. Sorry if I missed it! Ds6 is getting some Skylander stuff and that's all we have for him. He doesn't know what he wants and I just need 1-2 more ($20 or less) items for him. Ideas? (We don't need Legos, btw! lol) He has been drooling over the commercials for an Angry Birds Star Wars Jenga game/toy but the reviews stink. LOL
violamama
Our guys are in a similar boat. We let them put ONE lego thing on their lists, and then made them branch out. Seriously, I never thought we'd fill up all our lego drawers and boxes with those tiny suckers. We put this on our list, it's a nerf-style bow and arrow: http://www.visionforum.com/browse/product/greased-lightning-super-bow-arrows/?cid=1159 He's totally excited about this light-up ant farm: http://www.amazon.com/Fascinations-ANTW2-AntWorks-Illuminated-Blue/dp/B000F6F8CY/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=275TCNH1SSDUX&coliid=I3TFYHP2UWKMPW There's also finger puppets, lego ice cube trays (which we might use to make re-melted crayons), marbles, a butterfly garden thingie (similar to the ant farm idea) and we found angry birds blankets with hoods a while back at Costco. Funny how they gravitate to that when they've played it mayyybe three times in their entire lives. Merry merry!
Eagle
My ds is getting a few board games from us as well as extended family this year: Blokus, Apples to Apples Jr, Catan Jr, Zooloretto mini. He is also getting a sled and some books. For his upcoming birthday he is getting things for exploring outside: children's binoculars, lantern, magnifying glass, and some One Small Square books. http://www.amazon.com/Backyard-Donald-Silver/dp/007057930X/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1353796018&sr=8-2&keywords=One+small+square
PeacefulChaos
Astro just turned 7 the week before Thanksgiving and he's getting (yet another) Ben 10 action figure, a toy bow/arrows, a nerf hatchet, a Ben 10 ultimate echo echo arm thing (it shoots discs, I think? But honestly I don't think the discs will matter much :tongue_smilie: ...), and a Ben 10 racing game for the Wii. He's my weapon loving child. I know that probably sounds weird, but seriously, he likes toys and all but he has SO MANY already and just doesn't need more of the same. He got a scooter and a samurai sword from us for his birthday, and nerf guns from 2 friends (yes, two different nerf guns). :)

I just placed our Christmas order and I'm really pleased with everything I found on the site. The Sno Stompers are very cool! My DS6's feet are nearly too big, but the 4yo would go crazy! Our oldest is 6.5 this Christmas and he's getting the Lego Education Space/Airport set, a marble run, books, new Hanna Andersson pajamas, as well as a few Jim Weiss CDs in his stocking (plus random stocking stuffers). I'm thinking about more Hot Wheels track as well, but we'll see. I also just ordered him the Schleich Giganotosaurus, but I probably won't be able to wait until Christmas for that! Spryte
Keva Planks are great for that age - we love the Contraptions sets. Snap Circuits are always good, Playmobil... Most of our great loves have been listed already. :)
gardenmom5
I am getting my 7yo son the magic school bus dvd set (52 episodes) - on sale at amazon for $30 and to go with it, a magic school bus science kit and a book or two specific to the subject of the science kit. My dd was so excited he likes science so much. (she's a scientist.) she's the one who got him onto germs and white blood cells while studying for a test . . .. . annlaura
Besides Legos, DS6 is getting a big nerf gun and extra darts, a Matchbox Big Boots K9 police set, a new sled, the Angry Birds Jenga DeathStar, a Leapster Explorer GS, a puzzle, a Lego wiimote, and his Santa request. He's wavering between a few Lego sets, and a wooden crossbow from the Nova Natural catalog. He's also been wanting a chess set, but we'll see. brownie
DS7 is the youngest of three boys so this affects the kinds of toys we "need". But he's getting "another" dart gun and darts, soccer ball, nerf football, lego technic airplane, balsa wood gliders, crayola clay, civil war figurine play set, and an RC car. FairProspects
Where did you find the Civil War figurine playset? I've been looking for something like that!
Jen in PA
We are doing a lot of the things already mentioned. DS is really into Schleich knights right now, so this year he's getting more knights, a dragon, and a castle.
MrsBanjoClown
Our 5yo, turning 6 in December, is getting a Playmobil Egyptian chariot, Cars Lightning Hawk, Little Engine That Could book, Cranky the Crane (Thomas wooden railroad), a bicycle, a Bible, and Stomp Rocket Jr. Our 8yo is getting a butterfly garden, Playmobil sphinx set, a Star Wars book, Star Wars origami, a James Avery cross necklace, and an Egyptian senet game. I think we are going to look for a skateboard/ripstick or something similar for him. Dh is also supposed to pick up dress shirts with ties for the boys and buy a family membership to to zoo. I'll wrap up the First Encyclopedia of Animals we just got in along with a certificate for the zoo membership for both boys together. They will also get a Lego animals set we ordered from HSBC together. I ordered striped pullovers for both boys in our local high school colors to wear if we go to one of the playoff games(they usually go pretty far into the playoffs). If we don't go to a game, I'll wrap those up too.
