Halcyon
I need advice. DH is very, very picky about his bed sheets. He would LOVE too be able to get the very top of the line sheets, but right now that is not feasible. Can anyone recommend very high quality, non-sateen sheets that dont cost an arm and a leg? To give you an idea of what DH likes.... http://www1.macys.com/shop/product/hotel-collection-bedding-600-thread-count-egyptian-cotton-sheets?ID=109831&CategoryID=60364#bottomArea
Ellie
I have not seen high-quality sheets that don't cost an arm and a leg. :glare: I have bought sheets from QVC, and some of them allow you to make two or three payments. So far, I've been happy with the Northern Nights sheets I've bought.
MrsH
I occasionally get lucky at Marshall's, where I recently bought a set of sheets (queen-size fitted, flat, and two pillowcases) for $39.99, they were 600 thread count. Not everything is good, bu there are some treasures.
Parrothead
Did you see these?
Big Buckin' Longhorn
I picked up some 600 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets from Kohls on Black Friday on sale for $50. They are very nice. I have never paid $100 for sheets, so I cant compare to that for you. The "regular price" was $199.99 per the tag, but I don't know if that's true because Kohls is the land of the perpetual sale. ;-). I did have a coupon and got 20% additional plus $10 off so they were a steal for very nice king-sized sheets. I ended up paying just over $30 a set. I'm laying on them right now and I find them extremely smooth, silky, and substantial.
Mergath
My mom is picky with sheets, too. She usually waits until they go on sale at places like Herbergers. They're insane new, but if you wait until they're on sale and you grab a coupon, you can get a good deal.
Lolly
I usually buy sheets at TJMaxx these days.

I rarely buy sheets -- I either end up using whatever cheap once come in the bed-in-bag sets we normally buy or we get sheets as a gift. We really needed new ones, and boy was I appalled when I looked at the price tag!!!!!
pfamilygal
I've purchased really nice ones at Costco and at Overstock.com
mommymilkies
Overstock.com sometimes has them, but I go the day after Christmas and buy them cheap at Department stores. I am incredibly picky about sheets.
Beth S
I would just keep an eye out for Macy's sales. OK I looked at your Black Friday link. Looks like almost 50% off is still expensive! Would your dh love them enough to get them for Christmas? Would he really enjoy the difference? We bought "regular" Egyptian cotton, for about $20 for the set on sale, which are plenty soft! cin
We've been happy with the sheets from Lands End. We also like Ralph Lauren Sheets, which I've been able to get at TJ Maxx. Rarely do our sheets match, because we buy individually as opposed to sets.
Parrothead
Did you see these? I don't normally quote myself. I just wanted to say, Wow! Those are gone.
kalanamak
Target has a whole range, all with samples out for you to "feel". Led hubby down the aisle, eyes shut, and let him feel the samples. He might find he likes the feel of something that isn't top dollar. I'm happy with the just-below-median-price style I found there. Very happy. I have to fold them HOT out of the drier or they wrinkle, but they are nice and crisp, which is what I like.
Mommyof4ks
I got some 600 count Egyptian cotton sheets for $45 at Target on Black Friday that were king size. Keep an eye out at Target in January. They tend to put their sheet on clearance then. A couple of years ago I got organic cotton twin sheets for $8 a set! They were only 400 thread count, but still nice sheets.
