Catherine
Wow-I thought it was a great movie. Daniel Day Lewis really embodied the Lincoln of my imagination. He was wonderful. Sally Field also was very convincing as Mary Todd Lincoln. Has anyone else seen it? What did you think?
sparrow
I haven't seen it yet, but I'm really looking forward to it. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it!
catz
Thanks for the review! DH and I might go see it tomorrow night!
merylvdm
We are going hopefully next weekend as a family - cool to have a movie both kids (12 and 17) and both parents want to see. My 17 yr old is happy to come with us as he hasn't any friends who would be interested in seeing it. Glad my kids actually want to see a 'history' movie! mommylawyer
My husband and I just got back from the theatre an hour ago. We both thought it was absolutely wonderful! There is a reason why Daniel Day Lewis only appears on the big screen about once very five years or so - he puts so much into his characters, including this one. I can't wait to study the Civil War again in a couple of years; my kids will definitely watch this!
Tenaj
My oldest dd and I saw this last night. I thought it was excellent. The showing we went to was completely full and there was applause at the end.
suppleasthewind
I can't wait to see it! Do you think it is appropriate for nine year olds?
NavyMommy
I am so excited to see this!! Hoping to find a babysitter for next weekend so hubby and I can go. If not I may just go by myself (hubby isn't as into history as I am). It was also filmed near where I am from and I have several friends who were extras in it. lmrich
There were curse words and some bloody scenes...a pit of limbs from the hospital that might disturb your nine year old. I enjoyed it very much.
speedmom4
Can't wait to see this! Thanks for the review! Elise in NC
dbmamaz
we're about to start studying the war, so I might wait a bit - i'm worried it wont be playing or wont be at the 2nd run theaters yet when I want it! I'm also wondering if my 9 yo would sit through it. He loves action movies, but not talking . . .
