DawnM Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 Where do you keep it? Right now it is in my kitchen, but I am finding that now that I am starting to use it more regularly, it is too loud for me to be able to hear the kids from the next room, hear a phone conversation while I am trying to do things in the kitchen at the same time, and too loud for me to be able to hear the news on the TV. I am trying to figure out where to move it and I am thinking maybe the dining room. Where is yours? Dawn Quote
Shawna in North CA Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 I do! I actually have two, and use them both, alot. Mine are located on my outside, covered deck. My sister keeps hers on a countertop in her garage. My neighbor keeps her's in the basement. HTH! Quote
Erica in OR Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 Well, I'm not a whole lot of help—our Excalibur is in the kitchen in the corner. When we had our Nesco dehydrator (jet-engine loud, to me) we used it out in our laundry room, which is still close to the kitchen for loading it, but has a set of doors that can be closed when it's running. frankcassiesmom Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 Hmm mine is super quiet and I barely notice it at all. Truly. My expensive super quiet dishwasher is louder than my Excalibur. Is there something wrong with your fan or anything to make it that loud? We have a tiny house (under 1400 sq ft and have 6 kids) and it sits in the kitchen all hunting season running doing jerky. DawnM Posted November 23, 2012 Author Posted November 23, 2012 No, nothing wrong with our fan. It has always been this loud, as is my friend's excalibur. So, if the excalibur is running right next to you and the TV is in the other room, you can hear the TV? Maybe your model is newer than mine. Quote
Hoot Posted November 23, 2012 Posted November 23, 2012 I have a single cabinet/countertop right next to my fridge where I keep my Excalibur. No need to store it and it's plugged in and ready to go whenever I am. It fits absolutely perfectly in this spot. Quote
DawnM Posted November 23, 2012 Author Posted November 23, 2012 And you can hear things in the next room with it going. This is somewhat our set up, on a counter in the kitchen in a corner. I like the location, but I cannot hear the TV in the next room. Dawn I have a single cabinet/countertop right next to my fridge where I keep my Excalibur. The counter where it is located now nestles the dehydrator between two walls and the fridge so that may muffle the sound more than usual, too. Quote
