If you have an excalibur dehydrator and use it regularly

Recommended Posts

Where do you keep it?

Right now it is in my kitchen, but I am finding that now that I am starting to use it more regularly, it is too loud for me to be able to hear the kids from the next room, hear a phone conversation while I am trying to do things in the kitchen at the same time, and too loud for me to be able to hear the news on the TV.

I am trying to figure out where to move it and I am thinking maybe the dining room.

Where is yours?

Well, I'm not a whole lot of help—our Excalibur is in the kitchen in the corner. When we had our Nesco dehydrator (jet-engine loud, to me) we used it out in our laundry room, which is still close to the kitchen for loading it, but has a set of doors that can be closed when it's running.

And you can hear things in the next room with it going.

This is somewhat our set up, on a counter in the kitchen in a corner. I like the location, but I cannot hear the TV in the next room.

I have a single cabinet/countertop right next to my fridge where I keep my Excalibur. No need to store it and it's plugged in and ready to go whenever I am. It fits absolutely perfectly in this spot.

It's definitely loud, but it's not so loud that it is significantly distracting from the tv or telephone. The counter where it is located now nestles the dehydrator between two walls and the fridge so that may muffle the sound more than usual, too.
