Jane in NC
Anyone else making Christmas gifts this year? Time to check in and, in my case, learn how to post pictures in this new system. My most recent project is shown in the attached. I made two pillows from an Androsia (Bahamas) batik. The couple receiving these throw pillows spent their honeymoon in the Bahamas so I hope they will enjoy this reminder of the amazing color of the water there. This was my first project using piping. Piece of cake! I followed this tutorial. My knitting is also coming along. How are things with you?
saraha
I have a "Mrs. Claus" dress finished for one daughter, cloth napkins for all 6 kids, four throw pillows and a matching rag wreath for MIL's redecorated bedroom, have the parts for that sheet tent, but husband hasn't drilled the holes yet Still have to finish 3 stockings and an advent garland- I am making 24 small stockings, attatching them to a rag garland I made from green fabrics and twine from feed sacks, and a toy holder for inside little man's crib. edeemarie
I haven't make anything yet but I am going to be making several of the things on my Pinterest board here http://pinterest.com/purpleheartwife/homemade-presents/. It's funny- I was originally doing this because of a pending layoff for dh (Dec. 22), but after talking to the kids the only presents they remember from last year are the ones I made for them (and the crafts we did together). I am excited to be able to bypass the craziness of shopping and try making them gifts that are perfect for them (hopefully!).
dangermom
I just finished a really cute messenger bag for my 12 daughter. She always has to have a bag with her for her meds, and the one I made her last year is wearing out now. This one is supercute! And I'm going to make a little matching zipper pouch for the meds to go in it. I've also made two snuggly blankets and most of 3 stuffed owls to match. I have some other ideas too. For my mom I'm making placemats that are linen on the front and patchwork on the back. They'll be neutral-linen-but-colorful. And free--all from my stash. I would really like to make dresses for my nieces. I can't even find the magazine issue with the one pattern I want to make...dangit.
