Hilltop
Last year I used Alton Brown's recipe for our Thanksgiving turkey (500 degrees F for the first 30 min, then 350 degrees F until done). It was fantastic...everyone loved it, and my dh declared it was the best ever. This year we are participating in a turkey trot on Thanksgiving morning. In order for the turkey to be ready at the time I've invited our guests for dinner I would need to put the turkey in the oven while we are at the turkey trot if I follow AB's recipe. I found another recipe on the Trader Joe's website that would work better for my time constraints. It calls for roasting the turkey at 400 degrees F for the first 30 minutes, and then 325 degrees F until done. The cooking time is longer, so I would be able to put it in the oven before leaving for the turkey trot. Has anyone used the Trader Joe's recipe or a similar method with good results?
