ereks mom
We all know about How the Grinch Stole Christmas and A Christmas Carol, but I'm looking for your family's favorite titles that many (most?) of us have never heard of. For example, Miss Flora McFlimsey's Christmas Eve was a childhood favorite for my sister and me, but most of my friends IRL have never heard of it. Someone here mentioned Raphael, the Herald Angel awhile back, and I had never heard of it until then. It sounds wonderful, though, and I am trying to locate an affordable copy. milovany
I like The Miracle of St. Nicholas about the restoration of a church through the nativity season.
In the Rain
Mr. Willowby's Christmas Tree is a favorite here. It is from 1963. Is that considered vintage?
Carol in Cal.
"The Christmas Mouse"--probably out of print, but it is a lovely rendition of the story of the writing of Silent Night.
tammyw
I've been wondering about this book, as I've never heard of it, or seen it: http://www.chinaberry.com/p/Family-Christmas-Treasures.cfm
trinchick
Another vote for Mr. Willowby's Christmas Tree here. DD loves it! I'm also going to read her O Henry's The Gift of the Magi this year.

momto2Cs
The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus - we read this for the first time last year and loved it! Written by L. Frank Baum (Wizard of Oz) And here is a great Pinterest page on vintage Christmas books!
JumpedIntoTheDeepEndFirst
This is probably the one place where everyone has heard of it... The Bird's Christmas Carol.
Carol in Cal.
BTW, this is the one I meant: http://www.ebay.com/...=item1c1c13ec24 There are newer, completely different ones with the same title. But this is the old charming 'I love it' one. Snap it up, you won't be sorry. Oh my goodness! This one has the old dustjacket! http://www.ebay.com/itm/THE-CHRISTMAS-MOUSE-Elisabeth-Wenning-1959-HC-DJ-/160472368856?pt=Antiquarian_Collectible&hash=item255ce606d8

HollyBee
Any that are more geared toward the preteen and teen set? I know that these sweet picture books are timeless, but it would be cool to find a couple of new ones for older kids.
Zoo Keeper
I adore this version of Child's Christmas in Wales; my younger guys look, listen, and absorb. My oldest son is starting to appreciate the beauty of Thomas' prose...

Ellie
Probably not what you were thinking of, but The 101 Dalmations (original, not Disney), because the pups all return on Christmas Eve. :-)
acablue
Not vintage, but The Christmas Miracle of Jonathan Toomey has been my favorite for years. The three original Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer books (Robert May) are up there as well.
shukriyya
Not vintage but 'Mary's Little Donkey' by Gunhild Sehlin, 'The Light in the Lantern' by Georg Dreissig & Pauline Wehrle and while not a book, the dvd of 'A Child's Christmas in Wales' with Denholm Elliott
