I can't remember if it's always been this price or not?! It seems cheaper to me than the last time I looked. I went ahead and ordered it, I really like having a digital copy! Thought I'd post in case someone else was interested:

Thanks!

I just bought the History of the Ancient World yesterday as the price went down to 10.19 for the Kindle version. It's been on my wishlist for a long time but was too expensive. So far it's great! I'll have to check out the prices of her other digital books. It looks like all the prices may have been cut?

What happens if you log out, put it in your cart, and then log back in? I can do that other sites, but I don't know about Amazon; I never tried it.

When I log out I see it as $11.99. I'm too scared to try this, as it is that 1-click buying, and it doesn't show a price again after I log in, just says 'deliver to x's kindle'...

I didn't think of that :-( I hate 1-click buying. I've been able to turn it off in some instances, but not others.

You can return Kindle books very easily. If you buy it with one click and for some reason it turns out the book was priced higher than you thought (or you turned out to not like the content or whatever) just go to the bottom of an Amazon page where it says "Manage your Kindle" underneath the "Let us help you" column on the lower right hand side of each page. Click on it and it will take you to a page with all your Kindle purchases.

(This is also accessible from the top of the page in a horizontal list and by clicking on your name at the top for a drop down list.)

Navigate to the book you bought and then click on the button (on the right side) marked "actions".

Choose "return for a refund".

Amazon has always credited my Kindle returns within just a couple of minutes. You usually have the return for a refund option open to you for about a week for each title.

Soooo, if you do purchase it and the price isn't 11.99, you should be able to return it instantly. :-)

I hope this helps a little. I had no idea for a long time that you can return Kindle books. Now I've returned quite a few, especially books that don't have a preview and turn out to be something I don't want.

Edited to add: You can also turn off one-click. Just go into your account. Choose "Manage Addresses and One Click Settings". There is a yellow button on the right hand side where you can turn it off.

THANKS!!! I have downloaded books and been VERY disappointed within minutes, and wanted to return the book, but didn't think I could so easily.

This is the link the OP used - and it's coming up with the 3rd edition. :001_unsure:

? Dunno...maybe the 3rd edition isn't Kindle published yet.

I guess Amazon might have rerouted it to a newer version but that seems odd if they don't have it for sale yet? Does anyone know which edition was previously available for download or why this says it's unavailable in the US for Kindle?

They definitely USED to sell the third edition because that's what I have on my Kindle. I wonder why it's no longer available.

That's for the 2004 edition, not the 2009 3rd edition. I've been planning on buying this for months, and now that I have the money, I can't! Very frustrating and I have no idea why it's not available. And I'm not even in the U.S.!

I emailed Peace Hill Press to ask if they knew anything about the lack of Kindle edition availablity. I have not heard anything back yet. :confused1:
