Lanny
Glad that the forum is up and running again! :hurray: I see that you changed, from vBulletin, to IP Board, which is free. (Curious why you chose IP Board over phpBB?). My first impression was that the Forum was totally dead today! It was very very very very slow to load. Are you using the same server(s) in the same DC? If not, I hope you can go back to them! Hopefully, with some data base tuning, etc., you can get things running better, as time goes on. I am certain that you are glad this migration from vBulletin to IP Board is over!
Lanny
Follow on: I logged back on, wanting to Edit this post, but I don't see a way to Edit it. I now believe IP Board can be a Paid version or a free version. phpBB is free open source Software.

I am certain that you are glad this migration from vBulletin to IP Board is over! VBulletin is much, much better. I have received this error message twice: Backend server did not respond in time. App server is too busy and cannot handle requests in time. I really don't have time to wait several minutes between each search and for threads to load. Tullia
Glad to see you've made the changeover. The site is loading very slowly for me, but once I'm in, things are better though.
mathnmusic
Every click on the new forum takes a LONG time to process...I had quit altogether a couple times and started over. Hope it gets back to the previous speed of the old forum. Thanks
elegantlion
We are working on the server. Thats why the site is sluggish, it's not the software. The forums are on invision power boards which are not free anymore and can handle large traffic sites. The site will speed up over the next few days as I finish the configuration of the server. We went with the decision to get the board back online before everything was fine tuned because of how long it was taking everything to get converted. John Thank you, John. You rock. We appreciate everything you've done. :hurray: :hurray: :hurray:
Osmosis Mom
Guess this is not the place to lament that I absolutely hate this format. I hate that it is logged in to Facebook which potentially can take away a lot of the privacy. It is high tech and all, but I am not loving it. [email protected]
It is not logged into Facebook. There is no connection between our forums and Facebook whatsoever. A few users posted some very incorrect and inflammatory things that were misleading. Give it a chance! Moderator
besroma
I have noticed a significant improvement in speed today....quite "zippy" at times!
